    Fort Casey

Like most of you, I always enjoy P1M's pics from the castles and ruins he hikes through.

Well, in Washington we don't have old castles, but we do have some "ruins."

These pics are from Fort Casey. The guns were put in place to protect Puget Sound from naval attack.

Here's the fort from the rear. It is built into a bluff, overlooking the Sound

Here's a closer view of one of the guns. They were built on lifts. They would remain out of sight from ships in the bay, and then rise up to fire.

A view from the "business end."

Looking the other direction, out across the sound. There were additional guns on the other side of the water, forming a "triangle of death."

This is the ammo entrance area for nearby Fort Ebey. I kept expecting a sign here reading "Speak Friend and Enter..."

    Way to represent

Good on you for Representing Streetcar. I really enjoy P1M's photos also, and the scenery he visits is just enviable. Glad to see some American representing to bring balance.

By the way, were still a few IPLO's shy over here, where can I send your application?

All great shots, but I am particularly fond of the one looking across the bay.

I'm flattered, but with my second daughter to be born next week, I don't think my wife would forgive me...!
