I have one Stillwater standard and the fabric is just so lightweight that I'm not happy with it. The fabric is rough also. Anyway, I like to feel like I'm really wearing something.
Nice that you know what you are doing and have a purpose/mission in mind.
Myself, I prefer tartan. BUT, I am also a Scottish fanatic, so it fits.
Too bad about the Stillwater . I like kilts with weight too (a 4 yarder box in 16 oz is just perfect and balanced).
Maybe, a good "winter"/"cool weather" kilt would be one of Matt Newsome's tweed specials, found at:
