I thought the forum was interesting because, although they are hikers, they are also a slice of modern society complete with all of the misconceptions and misunderstandings of kilts inherent in the general populace.
And while kilts are quite special for a variety of reasons, they are still, for all intents and purposes, a type of skirt. To a casual onlooker, most have no idea how much fabric is in a kilt, how much they weighs, how they're made, the history, or anything else about them.
I was surprised there wasn't any nasty comments in the thread. And it's nice to know that there are a few open minded folks out in the world. We'll educate them first.
