Traditional style straps do take a little getting used to and do require a bit more time, but I much prefer the straps. For one thing, they are much more forgiving of changes in waist size. For instance, if you eat a bit too much at a meal, you can just loosen the straps one notch. You can't do that with snaps.

I'm with Dave on this one. I can't wear my two Utilikilts right now because I've lost a little weight and even with a belt I have to keep hiking them up. On my other kilts I can just tighten the straps (or velcro) and off I go.
