I'd have to agree with Southern Breeze on this one. Long Johns showing below shorts have a with it, sportsmannish, look and are a quite acceptable look, but somehow don't look right when protruding below the selvedge of a kilt. IMHO visible underwear is Ok with shorts, but detracts from the dignity of the kilt.
