Just got back from church
Okay, well this is how I was dressed for church today. I was trying for a casual dressy look, or a dressy casual look....or something like that. Here in the desert ANYTHING goes at church because by noon the temperature was already well over 100 degrees here.
I am wearing a grayish polo shirt and a Heather Gray Utilikilt Mocker with a StillWater sporran to add a touch of authenticity...and alllow me to get to my cell phone quickly if I need to.
After church since I was in my "public" mood I went to Target and did some shopping so I could raise some more eyebrows. I needed to buy more clothes hangers for all these kilts that are invading my closet.
Now....if you saw a guy my size walking through a shopping mall with a very seriously determined look on his face, would you tell him he looks silly in a kilt? This is perhaps why all my negative comments have some from people in moving vehicles. However, the negative comments have been few.

A good look!
You're braver than me with the sox pulled up in the heat!

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."

I like the UK Mocker combined with sporran look.

Check out the size of that smile!
So... Did anyone at church say anything? That was another first for you, wasn't it?

Umm....yes....so many firsts for me. I hope that once I get over every hurdle at least once it will be easier.
HOWEVER, this time I had a little advantage - this is the church that Retro Red attends but I didn't see him there. I knew they would be used to seeing a guy in a kilt so I wasn't heading into totally uncharted water.
It still felt very strange indeed....

The interesting thing is this - I am showing much less skin than I would be if I was wearing shorts and yet this is SO MUCH COOLER! I was really surprised at the breeze I was getting under my kilt while I was walking through Target.

Looks great
The outfit looks great, it seems like you are jumping in, and really enjoying the kilt.
Keep on going.

Looks good, but I would have pushed the hose down for a casual look, or folded them down for a more formal look, or worn traditional height hose. Just my preference, something about the mid-calf look that does not feel right to me.
The kilt concealed a blaster strapped to his thigh. Lazarus Long
