James, Zardoz beat me to it. When you actually run the numbers, a USAK is a tremendously better value for the money. And the ability to throw a USAK casual into the washer, then spin dry on low heat for 5 minutes, then jang dry and wear with no additional work will save you immense amounts of time. I have 1 SK that must be ironed EVERY time I wear it if I want it too look respectable, must be washed more often, and when it is washed, looks hideous out of the washer or dryer and must be ironed. If I had nothing but SK's to buy, I would have to seriously consider pants again, although I might wear them slung low like today's kids so that they would be somewhat as comfortable as a kilt. Kilts are only going to become more common place if they are as easy (or easier) to care for as pants.

I'd been wondering about SKs myself.

If you've got the time, drive on down there and have a look in person (besides it'll be a hel.. heck of a lot cooler down near the ocean !!! ) The Boulder kilts are pretty nice as Rex mentioned.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will definitely go with a USAK casual, because of the extra cost of sewn-down pleats, belt loops, etc, not to mention I'd have to pay tax here in California. $110.00 is not much in the long run, and when Autumn arrives I'll be ready for an SWK Standard or two. Unless of course SWK gets a wool heavyweight in the Irish National tartan, or I come up with the money to commision a kilt from Kathy . . . I can always hope
