    Which jacket?

OK, so there has been a lot of interest in jackets to wear in business or for more informal occasions where an Argyll would be a little too much (at least in the US), and wearing a PC would be like wearing a 3 piece suit to swim.

Now I will be one of the keynote speakers at a conference in Boston at the end of August. I will be kilted, and want to present a more formal appearance than just the kilt and a dress shirt. I want to wear a jacket and tie. It is somewhat important for me, as a keynote speaker, to present a more formal appearance than I would feel necessary if I were just attending, or just presenting a technical topic, as I have done in the past. To that end I have found the jackets shown below. I am considering either my PK in brown/black herringbone (shown at the bottom) or my soon to be completed XMarks kilt. Keep in mind that while this is a purchase for a specific event now, I would want a jacket that would fit a variety of situations in the future, and I have very few "formal" events. Those that do arise, I would wear the Argylll to.

Charcoal tweed would also be my choice. More versatile than the others.

Of the three go with the charcoal. Keep checking E-bay for a light grey (solid not the hound's tooth) or a lovat blue or green as well for a good choice.
