Tartans all go at "natural" waist (i.e. slightly above the belly button). Contemporaries go from my "real" waist (you know the skinniest part of you) to just under the belly button (depending on the model). Adam
umbilicus.... gaelic fur beerbelly....
Odd, the poll says that I may not vote in this poll. Anyway I wear my kilts just slightly above the umbilicus. You know the belly button thingy.

Dee, the voting issue was my fault. Try to cast a vote now, everything should work.
At or above!!
Paul Murray Kilted in Detroit! Now that's tough.... LOL
At this time in my life since they are all UKs and I want them longer, I wear them on my hip - which means the hem is just to the bottom of my knees. Now, if I found a really sexy girlfriend who loved my kilts and wanted them higher, this could change. That's another nice thing about kilts - they are so easy to move up and down to suit whatever situation is at hand.
At or above in all cases so far, we'll see with my USAK when it comes. O'Neille
Always above.

I actually wear mine just right at the belly button. It will go above that, depending on the rise of the kilt.
