I'm not as inhibited as you, I guess. I, personally, just wouldn't feel comfortable dressing as a Welshman. Besides, I'm content just admiring. Plus, I don't need anything else to buy, I still have a whole list of Scottish stuff I want!

I think perhaps you meant that you're not as uninhibited as I am?

    Yes, sorry. Uninhibited, you're right.

Yes...Wales does rule :-) But I am partial cause I have a Welsh family line as well. I agree with you on the Tartan with the Dragon on it. I am saving up for it as we speak.

You might have seen it already, but just in case, check out www.welsh-tartan.com. Lots of cool stuff on there.

I have the St. David's tartan kilt (Brithwe Dewi Sant), complete with a dragon pin, in my Kollection:

but I think I draw the line at the ysgrepan, which looks as if it needs a haircut - the Freelander looks so much neater!

Ok, now I am confused. I like this kilt very much but is it really a tartan? The verticle stripes are not the same as the horizontal.

Me too Ham - they look far too shaggy for my taste.

The Welsh Tartan Centre had a stand at the Royal Welsh Show in July and the chappie manning it was sporting a St Davids Tartan Cilt and a Ysgrepan.

I asked him out of curiousity if I could have a peek inside it and he duly obliged. It has a similar storage capacity to the Sporran but I just couldn't find it aesthetically pleasing and told him I still preferred my sporran (which I was of course wearing with my kilt). I think he was pleased though to see someone else actually in a kilt though.

They do offer a sporran with the Welsh Dragon embossed on it, however, and I might be tempted at some stage to obtain one, preferably along with my first Welsh Tartan Cilt!
