Congrats, Rex. I agree with Cloves.

For years I kept my private life very much to myself whilst at work - or I thought I did! After maybe 22 years with the Company, I took my secretary/PA to lunch to celebrate her birthday and, in conversation she asked me about Tom, my lifetime partner. That took the wind utterly from my sails, as I did not think anyone knew about him, let alone his name. When I obviously showed surprise at her knowledge, the lass told me, "Don't give me that! We've all known about you two for years!" After that, life became SO much easier.

PS: I never found out how everyone knew so much about me!

Not to me. It was a small family business and, on reflection, I suppose it was inevitable that colleagues who worked closely together for many years (as we all did not so many years ago!) got to know each other pretty well and to understand what made us all tick. I was with the Company for 32 years in a managerial capacity.
