Hello and welcome to the rabble! I can't really help on the bicycle question, as I'm a widebody who doesn't exercise much! haha. As far as the buzz kidder, I'm sure you'll love it. I love mine. Actually I bought mine at the Flagstaff Celtic fest a few weeks ago.

Welcome to the forum from Scotland. You could of course go like some of the Highland Games guys and wear lycra bike shorts with a kilt on top.

I can field the Bike with kilt question. I've Mountain Biked while kilted and there really aren't many issues with it except that it just doesn't look good

As you peddal, the aprons want to seperate and with enough material like an 8 yd. traditional, you might rub a tire. Other wise the only issue really is no padding. I've ony done this once, and won't do it again unless I have to.

Bottom line, wear bike shorts and stuff the kilt in your pack and change over when off the bike. Just one man's opinion

I've tried it on a mountain bike and didn't like it as well as my biking shorts with a built in bike pant. I bike with my daughter to school almost everyday during the school year and find that it is just too difficult to control all of that material flying around going down the hill. It might work on a beach cruiser or something though. O'Neille

I ride a recumbent trike and that would not work well with a kilt. While seated and going forward the kilt would be over my head in no time. Now on a bicycle (what we refer to as "wedgies") I would think the pleats could catch in your spokes or at the least get greased. Don't think I would risk a nice kilt. Easy enough to put on over your biking shorts once you dismount though.

I'll be riding the MS 150 again this year. Think I'll pack along the kilt for the evening. Thanks for making me think of that.

    Cheers! Bill

Thank you so much folks, not only for the kind words of welcome but for the great advice - and the picture. You know, I think I might try it around the block...just once...and see what happens.

And by the way, I am VERY glad to hear you liked our festival, Retro Red. I do indeed remember your hair. A few of the people with me were pretty green with envy over those locks. I'll keep my eyes open for you next year. Again, thanks everyone.
