Another vote for the Wicked Tinkers

Also check out anything by Neil Anderson :http://www.antipypr.com
I think he used to be the piper for Seven Nations before they ditched their unique Celtic image and decided to sound like every other pop rock group.

I didn't realise that. I was referring to this Blackthorn. They have a more traditional feel to them, but not so traditional a modern Celtic music fan would dislike them. Of course, it comes down to taste, but I sure like them.

They sound good. Check out these guys from my neck of the woods http://blackthornband.com/index.php

The guy with the ponytail (Michael Viens) is the webmaster for www.westcoastkilts.com . I have seen this Blackthorn a few times. They play the Burns Cabaret near my home every year. I have also seen Shona Le Mottee a few times and she is as nice to listen to as she is nice to look at www.shona.ca

Highlander Radio has been playing alot of these guys today adn they sound pretty decent. http://www.boysofstjamesgate.ca/index.htm

He was the Seven Nations piper in the early Days.
Between solo work and playing with Rathkeltair he would normally be
touring this time of the year.
He is currently on active duty in Iraq.

These are very contemprary (mostly) Irish groups. Some are friends of mine and some I wish! But firstly I'd be remiss not to suggest The Barleyshakes, link in my signature. We started in Dublin years ago and are Australian based now, touring nationally and internationally.
