Is there a need for a low-cost kilt roller?

I have a design idea for a low-cost kilt carrier. Somewhere around $20 or so. Is there any need for something like this?

What are you planing on making it from? I've been using $1.00 a pair stockings and they work rather well.

I'd love to see a picture of what you have in mind. I think something that is low cost but sturdy would be great. I would love to have something that I could strap to the handlebars of my motorcycle so that I can transport my kilt to and from my brother's place on kilt nights.

Whatever you have in mind, I am very interested.

This last vacation I took seven kilts, wore one, six on hangers in garment bags. Would have been a lot easier to have the unworn kilts be rolled and in a piece of luggage. But would also have been nice to have hangars ready at the hotel to let them hang out. Taking the kilts in garment bags provided the hangars...even with the hassle....

And no, the hotel hangars didn't have clips.

So yes, an inexpensive roller would have been nice....if there were also a way to transport hangars...

I ran into the same dillema our week in a hotel in Flagstaff. I rolled the two kilts I had at the time, and they were fine. But, never thought to bring clipped hangers to let them hang out.

Yes, there is a need for an inexpensive kilt roll...

I have only ever seen 3 brands... the one that Lochcarron sells is nice, but WAY overpriced. They mark up the manufacturer's price and import it to the states (retails for about $80 if I'm not mistaken). I saw 2 other companies while over at the trade show in Scotland... both were much more reasonably priced, but when you added the shipping, they went WAY out of the pricerange.

The basic "kilt roll" that these companies are offering is not much more than a "pool cue carrier". Some of them offer a semi-rigid plastic sheet to aid in rolling (put kilt on plastic sheet and roll sheet). I've been looking for a decent carrier that could RETAIL for $40 or so (wholesale for about 1/2 that)

I always thought a tube of some kind which you could put your kilt in to carry would be a good idea somthing like what daughtsmans used to put his drawings in before the computer came into the world. With maybe a screw on top to add protection

I have a full priced one, and used to use a towel and a leg from pantyhose/tights, but I would be very interested, in case I need to take 2 kilts.

Another question..as to kilt rolling. Has anyone rolled two kilts together? Did this produce any negative effects on the kilts rolled?
