My traditional 'tanks' are made 23 inches and I was a little concerned about the extra inch in the Stillwater kilts but when I finally broke down and ordered my first non-traditional kilt I was not disapointed. At 5' 8" I have no problem adjusting the rise so that it hangs where I want it to hang but then I like a lot of rise to my kilts. I could never get used to something that rested on my hips. I was so impressed with the Stillwater kilt that I ordered another, plus flyplaid for each.
Now, as I've mentioned before I am looking for a kilt that is dyed by natural process as in days of old. Is there any information out there about Scottish wool kilts that are dyed from plant and vegetable dyes? Or is this a thing gone forever?
Chris.
