Awesome! That's a stunning tartan and the kilt looks fantastic
I think a dress sporran will look better with a doublet though

Phil,
The 'Glenfinnan' shoes, which were a Christmas gift to myself last year, came from:

Nice additional to your Kollection
I wonder if wearing brown leather accessories would give the casual look a different feel.
Thanks for sharing.

The formal outfit is stunning, Hamish! The shoes and doublet are great.
Like Rex, I wonder how the casual look would be with shirt/hose matching the light blue stripe… Or black woukd really bring out the yellow.
Congratulations on #65!

Hi Eric,
There are two reasons why I haven't 'gone for' brown leather accessories.
First, the Cornish sporran does not exist in brown, only in black - and I can see why!
Second, the predominance of black in the tartan (black and white being the colours of the Cornish flag), really means that brown accessories would not work with it. That lovely tartan says to me, " My accessories must be black!" Only in very exceptional cases do black and brown compliment each other sufficiently well that they can be worn together, and this is not one of them I'm afraid.
Nice thought though!

I agree with you on the subject of a dress sporran, Robin. However, there does not appear to be a Cornish Dress sporran in existence. By that I mean a dress sporran faced with the fifteen bezants rather than the tassels we all know so well! All the publicity photographs for the Cornovi Company in Cornwall, and those in their colour catalogue, show the leather sporran being worn with Prince Charlies, etc. It does look odd I admit, but the Cornish sporran is so distinctive that I think it works - just!
Many thanks for your observation.
