In an ancient Scottish tartan, my clan is Shepherd. In the Irish clan Maguire.

I as reading earlier posts and put the "KT" and mention of the airport together. I kept thinking that it had to be you. I forgot to get your screen name, so when I registered here, I couldn't put anything in the referral spot. Hopefully you will still get the credit.
The Bixby SuperCenter is nearing completion and that place is huge. You might have your work cut out for you recruiting there!

nah...a guy walks anywhere in a kilt, and people notice. The hard part is getting intelligent people to talk to you. That is where the work comes in.
welcome to the rabble!

welcome to the rabble!
I really haven't thought about the trouble with finding an intelligent conversation regarding kilts. It does amaze me how many people stare and make jokes about wearing kilts and refer to them as "skirts". Or assume that wearing of a kilt is strictly for "special occassions". Kudos to you for being patient enough to educate the general public regarding the kilt.

Easy-peasy. The Shepherd tartan is also the Northumberland Check, also referred to as the Falkirk tartan/Border/Shepherd's plaid:

The first link is to the Northumberland Tartan Co. in England, but other kiltmakers offer it, including our own Matt Newsome. It's much more common than you think.
As far as the tartan for the Maguires goes, have a read on Matt's web site:

You can't go wrong with Matt!
Cheers,
Todd
