He probably won't have your tartan, But for a lightweight wear anywhere, check out Rocky's casual line at USA kilts. It is about the same as the Sportkilt with the extra's added, and the polyvis material holds up better than Sportkilts poly cotton blend. I like Sportkilt , and I wear one or the other of the two I own (without the extras) around the house every day, but when you get past the cheaper Sportkilt, to equal in price with USA Kilts, Rocky's is the better choice.

I think you will find a Stillwater kilt too hot for your location. I highly recommend a Casual kilt from USA Kilts. It is the only kilt I wear during the summer here in Florida. USAK's workmanship and customer service are very good.

One SportKilt is all the average guy should need. The cost of upgrades just makes it unreasonable. If you want to look respectable in public in a SK you have to buy the upgrades and the material they use just does not warrant that price. I own a SK and it is a perfect pajama kilt.

USA Kilts is the ticket for what you have described. Quality is top notch and if you want to step up to the Semi-Traditional in order to achieve the traditional look without the heat and weight, Rocky can set you up also.

One other to look at is Neokilt. I don't own one and have only seen pics on the forum but reports are that the service is great.

Stillwater kilts are very nice and a great deal but they do not fit the desire you described above since they are medium weight acrylic or wool depending on the model. You should however keep them in mind when you want to diversify your wardrobe

Welcome, and add my vote for USAK casual or step up a notch for a more traditional look. The PV would be a great fabric for Hawaii (my freshman year UH Hilo). Keep in mind that the lighter weight fabrics tend to sail a little. I live in a breezy place and fight more w/ my USAK casual more than my others. My lightweight wools behave better. O'Neille
