As for tartans and "Scottishness," there are many here with no tartan kilts, many with only tartans, and many more with BOTH (some of whom are Scots and others with 0% Scot blood).
If interested in a tartan that is appropriate, tell us about yourself and ask in the Tartan subsection (under accessories, if I recall correctly).
It does seem expensive, but I consider the other things I could be doing, and, all told, comfortable clothing is not the worst thing I could be spending my money on. ^^
Speaking of which, anyone know of a kiltmaker who normally has material in the Ontario provincial (and I mean the one finally passed in June this year) or Maple Leaf tartans?
