Thanks for the photos, c152t. Reminds me of seeing the Vulcans I'd see regularly when I was stationed at Strategic Air Command headquarters at Offutt AFB. They had a flight of them there for training. With that huge rounded delta wing, they were really something to see in flight. Remarkably graceful for such a big bird.

One Sunday afternoon a bit less than 40 years ago, my friend and I were playing in his back yard. We heard the roar of powerful jet engines. When we looked overhead, we were treated to the sight of an AVRO Vulcan flying directly overhead at 5,000 feet (or less). It was on the downwind leg before landing at McClellan AFB for an airshow that weekend.
We both knew what it was, because my friend was an AF brat who was born and raised in England and I had been an aviation buff from age five. That was one beautiful aircraft, despite being comparable in size to a B-52.

I have to admit that I thought I was going to see a picture of you standing on Mr. Spock's shoulders.
Very nice pics. Reminds of the time I got a tour of a B-52 from my bro-in-law when he was still flying them.
Slainte.

That's a great picture, David, and somehow the denim jacket, grey shirt and the green based kilt tartan co-ordinate nicely with the 'plane's camouflage scheme!
