Andrew,
The Scottish American tartan is only made in heavyweight wool, but USAK has the Caledonia tartan in PV.
USAK's Casual and Semi-traditional kilts are made of PV. Their Premier kilt is a traditional 8-yard wool kilt. They also make 5-yard wool kilts.
I really like my (Scottish National) Casual kilt, especially for summer wear. It is lighter and cooler than wool. Little maintenance is needed. Machine wash in cold water and don't use fabric softener. If you let it hang dry, little or no ironing will be needed.
The Casual is made of about 5 yards of material, so it has noticeably less swing than a full 8-yard kilt. However, I think swing is the least important aspect of a casual kilt. Swing is more desireable with a formal kilt.
