This happens to me a LOT... I hate when people stare at me (most times in public, I just want to be left alone) and it happens a lot when you wear a kilt. I guess it's kind of like being a Celebrity on a very small scale. People you don' know want to talk to you, take your picture, etc.
I can also give you a RESVERSE example. I had to wear a pair of pants while painting 2 rooms in my house. When I had to "relieve myself", I went into the bathroom. I stood there facing the bowl and bent down to lift the bottom edge of my kilt, but I wasn't wearing one. After that split second of "of crap... what do I do? I really have to go!", I remembered that I was wearing pants and that I had to unzip. Sounds stupid, but after your brain is trained in one way of doing things for a couple years, it becomes second nature!
