I saw a preview a few days ago and got the impression it was now in America. Yet another ratty looking hair piece for Cage I see.

The new film is a FAR cry from the original.

It's in America.

It's really playing up the "supernatural" element.

It has Nic Cage and NOT Christopher Lee.

I don't think there will be any mention of all between the religio-cultural clash between the policeman and the islanders, which was part of the reason why the original film was so suspenseful.

Mind you, I haven't seen it, but I'm not enthused at this point to see it, and I love the original.

As an aside, a good friend of mine, upon seeing a picture of me in a kilt for the first time, said, "Lord Summerisle requests your presence!"

Wow.. I forgot about something... There were at least TWO scenes where Lee is wearing a kilt.. HMmm.. Looks like I'll have to watch it again...

Cage is not playing Lord Summerisle(or equivalent) as Lee did.. It appears that he's playing the part of Lt. Howie (Edward Woodward).

six degrees of Christopher Lee....

...we were watching Star Wars Part Two last night and the conversation turned to how robust Chris Lee was (and hopefully still is) for a man in his eighties...I love the old Hammer horror films...Lee and Peter Cushing...what a team.

Somebody please let the young folks know that this is yet another remake.
I note that the original went on sale at Best Buy/Circuit City this weekend...priced to sell on DVD.

Also note that Lee is something like 6' 5"...that must have been one long kilt.

Now I'll have to get this just as an homage:
