Kilt #3!
I just got my third kilt, my first utilikilt, in the mail today. It's a caramel workman's.
I do love it so, putting it on almost feels like strapping on armor or something... which is appropriate, since the 13oz canvas duck will at least "help" should the shard gods attempt to invade my crotch whilst smithing.

And perhaps fireproof socks might be in order as well!

Congrats on the new Workmans. You can find an excellant belt for it at Lowes, Home Depot and other hardware stores. Be careful around the forge, those snaps can get a wee bit hot.

Congratulations on that new Workman's. I agree that they feel like strapping on a piece of armor. IMHO, I think they just about look like a piece of art as well with all the crome-like snaps and the leather belted areas to hang stuff. A very functional and masculine looking garment.

I've done a lot of smithing while wearing a Workmans and I can say that it holds them off very well.

Yeah, I've been wearing it every chance I get since it arrived. I love it.
I was sitting around thinking, "I'd like a kilt. I'd like a kilt that goes on fast and still has some serious carrying capacity (a properly secured great kilt has major pocket space, by the way). I'd like a kilt made out of something I won't have to worry about when i'm working, be it at the forge or elsewhere... (fuzzy wool + fire = bad)"
The Workman's definitely fit the bill.
