I hope this helps you out, Hamish

I had thought to convert to AVI, but the file goes from 4.5 Megs to 222 Megs! Ouch!!

Thank you, Ray. That did it! It worked, and I've copied your instructions for future use. I'd never remember them otherwise!

A very nice greeting, although it sounds as if you were in the middle of hosting a party or barbeque! Hope we didn't keep you from your guests too long!LOL. It is a very clear picture - do you have a video camera, or is it a digital still one which, like mine, has a short video facility?

Here's the lowdown on the camera-

It's a Kodak 4.1 MegaPixel still camera that has 16 Megs of internal memory and will take a SD (secure digital) card of up to 256 Megs. It will take video for about 12 minutes if there are no other pics on the card.

I am really happy with it-it's small and takes very good stills and really blows me away with the video it shoots.

BTW, the sound in the background was the NASCAR Sharpie 500 from Bristol, Tennessee on the television. I was taking advantage of best lighting and that was the time I needed to shoot in.

I give all of you a 'Thank You' for having a look at the video. I hope to do some more at the Pleasanton games.

Thanks for that info, Ray. I am VERY impressed with the quality of your camera. My Fuji Fine-Pix is a 9.0 MegaPixel still model and the Compact Flash card I currently use is 1.0GB - the video clips certainly use up the frames! I am wondering if the high definition of your video has anything to do with it being in QuickTime format? If so, how could I film in the same format with my camera? I am NOT technically adept, but I'd like to achieve the fine quality you have if possible, and any advice or pointers would be hugely appreciated.

    Hmmm...

    Well Hamish-

I looked up the Fuji FinePix 9500 and read the manual on-line. I have to say that this is very advanced camera from my Kodak.

It says that the video format is a type of AVI file called Motion JPEG, a format that I am not familiar with. It does, however state that it can be viewed by Quicktime Player 3.0 or higher. I have to think that it must be similar to my MOV format.

I would think you would get very good video in the 640 X 480 setting as this is at 30 frames per second, very good for video. It is possible that PhotoBucket has messed with the file some, I would try making a video, copy it to your Hard drive and view it with Quicktime Player.

See if that possibly makes any difference. You may need to upload your video again and I will try uploading a video to my PhotoBucket account to see if I get the out of sync audio and video quality issues.

    Hey guys-any other ideas?
