    6 degree's of Fraser

Since I've been here reading over the passed year and a half or so, I frequently see people saying, "hey, I'm a <insert family name here> too!" I thought I'd throw this dedicated thread out and see what happens.

Any other Frazier, Fraser, Frasier Frizzell ...or septs of Fraser http://www.fraserclan-cal.net/

I think my mother's younger brother married a Fraser, who, if I remember correctly, is somehow related - a cousin of some variety - to my father, and thus to me in more than one way. So, my aunt is also maybe a second cousin once removed, or maybe a first cousin twice removed - not quite sure - but I can check on that.

    How's that?

The follow-up: My aunt was a Feezor, which probably is probably of German origin, not a Fraser. My paternal great-great aunt's daughter (my first cousin, twice removed) married my mother's brother (making her also my aunt by marriage), which makes my first cousins' children (first cousins, once removed) also my third cousins, who, having descended paternally from my maternal great-grandmother, have a little McGregor (ObScot) in them, but none of this helps in your quest. I just had to get that brain fart out.

At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

Finally, a Clan Fraser site that recognizes Frizzell as an alternate spelling and not as a sept of Fraser.

Yeah, Fraser, Frizzell, Frizelle, Frisell, Freser, Frazer and Frezel are all alternative spellings of the same name so are direct part of the main clan and not a sept.

    Frasers...

I should have posted this earlier in this thread, but the best link about the Clan Fraser, and a very good source of information on the traditions and customs of Scottish clans is the web site of Lady Saltoun, the Chief of the Frasers:

    http://www.fraserchief.co.uk/

I consult this web site regularly, and I wish all Chiefs had such a site.

    Cheers,

    Todd
