Thanks to everyone who checks in on my blog - it's good to know that someone's reading it!

Ron - the wild huckleberries are just coming into season. Perfect!

Oh yeah, I'm just over 2100 miles, and just 47 miles away from the Washington border. Yeah!

    Slurp!

Enjoy them huckleberry's Andrew, you've sure earned them. Best I can do down here in the canyonlands is some Huckleberry soda from the polygamist store over in Colorado City, AZ.

I'm at Snoqualmie Pass, WA, at milepoint 2383.2 - just 270 miles to go, a little less than two weeks!

I've walked through snow, raging rivers, and fire to get this far, and it's been an amazing journey. I'm both excited and sad that the hike is nearing an end. At least I'm with four friends, all people I've met out on the trail, and we're planning on finishing together. There are others around who I know as well, and the tension is in the air - it's practically crackling - as we near the Canadian border.

But of course this is northern Washington, so it's raining and snowing out on the trail now. The last stretch will be a cold one, whereas the first was a hot and dry one.

As always, my journal and photos are at: http://www.breecher.com

I came to this party late - I've been catching up with your journal and pictures. A dear friend did the PCT several years ago and another dear friend is currently doing the Camino in northern Spain, so I've really enjoyed your journal. I send you my best and thank you for letting us know about your progress!

Well done Andrew - your journey is near its end. I've never had the good fortune to hike the PCT but I did help build about 10 miles of the trail you're now walking. A month and a half of tent living in this alpine wilderness was amazing but making a finished graded trail out of the virgin landscape was hard work. I'm glad you're able to enjoy it!

I finished the PCT in Manning Park, BC, on the 2nd of October. 2,663 miles of trail from Mexico to Canada. Whew, I'm tired!

I'm still in Seattle now, visiting with trail friends, but I'm flying back to Boston tomorrow. Then I have to get a job, get an apartment, and all that "real life" stuff everyone else deals with. Feh.

    Andrew.
