Hail to thee from Chicago.
...your roommate may laugh...sure...laugh now...we are not amused.
Many of the forum participants have had to withstand the slings and arrows of the odd snicker or chuckle or even insult or the un-kilted. Shake it off and keep going...you'll be a better man for it.

Hi KiltSocal, welcome to the boards, from another SoCal kilter.
What part of Socal are you in? If its anywhere near the city of Orange, I strongly suggest you take yourself and your kilt to the Orange International Street fair tonight or tomorrow. (Orange circle, where all the antique shops are)
Great big fun event, and I'll be there tonight. You can find me at Ireland Street when American Wake is playing. I'll be the guy in the kilt.
And dont worry about your roommate. He may laugh now, but just wait until you take his girlfriend. Or if he doesnt have a girlfriend, just wait until he sees the attention you get from other women. He'll come around then.

I don't know much about Southern California.....but I thought out there everyone did their own thing and it was an accepting place when it came to new ideas?
What is an MK?
Anyway, welcome from Phoenix, AZ! I'm sort of like one of your neighbors to the east.
I wear Utilikilts (UKs) and I think they are awesome - in my opinion they don't compare to Amerikilts (AKs).
