Purewool kilt hose is itchy. I found some sock liners that are knee length. Perhaps they could be used to wick away moisture and stop the wool itch. They would make a great winter footwear combined with kilt hose or wool socks and good boots.

If you have ichy hose then that would seem to be a good idea - though I have made myself numerous pairs of wool and wool/Nylon socks and not had any ichyness.
Maybe the quality of the wool is not good enough and it is too rough against the skin.

When I was younger I used to do a LOT of SCUBA diving. The chore of dragging the wetsuit on and off was greatly reduced by slipping on a pair of pantyhose first, improvise, adapt, overcome!
Pantyhose- not just for the girls...LOL!

When I was in the Air Force we used to wear "knee highs" under our socks to prevent blisters on ruck marches. Yes, contrary to popular belief, there are some units in the Air Force that actually do "ruck marches, PT, Patrols, Land Navigation" and those types of things

Would think the knee highs the better choice for a kilted single man...then if he got lucky, as kilted me often do, it would be much easier to conceal the knee highs within the kilt hose when disrobing, than it would be to conceal the panty hose...
Was Joe Nameth on to something??

No need to a dress sporran with a PC like that, I would recommend a plain leather sporran to compliment that outfit

As for the pantyhose suggestions, I'll leave that one alone. How about tights instead?

Thorlo makes Cool-Max liners, in both calf-high and crew length.
I have some of each height, and the tall ones really are great for kilt hose. They keep the itchies down in warm weather, and help insulate in cool.
