here is another good comeback for the not-so-playful lifters

"I see your keepers left the cage unlocked today"
I have told a few friends who didn't get the message (sober or not) that if they tried putting their hand up there again they would come back with a bloody stump. I say it with a bit of a "wink" in my voice to convey that I'm joking about the physical violence part but am dead serious about not appreciating their attempt.

I always wondered about doing this...

What would happen if you said, "That'll be $20.00!" Or ask if you can peek inside thier pants or if they wouldn't mind pulling their pants down.

I guess most women wear slacks or pants now anyway.

    DALE.

    for a joke...

After our play, "Brigadoon" one of the guys at the cast party wore a kilt with a mirror attached hanging inside. He'd ask people if they wanted to see what was under his kilt, and when they looked, they saw themselves looking back from the mirror.

    DALE.

    Kilt Lifters

This is bizarre and when I hear what alcohol makes people do I'm really glad I no longer drink the stuff nor go to pubs. If any guy tried to lift my kilt I'd consider he was a filthy pervert and tell him so in no uncertain language. Guys like that are disgusting and have no place in a civilised society. I'd lock them in a cell for life and throw away the key. I'd like to think I might be a tad more tolerant if a youngish female tried it though - nowadays it may be politically incorrect to explore up women's skirts but I'm sure many of us were long ago pubescent boys up to mischief and got away with it more often than we deserved.

Having read this entire thread this morning I cannot believe how many here would simply allow some stranger to walk all over them. It's no great wonder why so many low-lifes think they can do whatever they want when some male who seems not man enough to challenge someone assaulting them by lifting their kilt in public or anywhere else for that matter. the least that should happen should be a backhand across their mouths for their trouble and though I personally would like to put something sharp up to their adams apple and order them to drop their trews in front of the crowd, I think the next best thing would be to have them arrested and charged with sexual assault and have them register as a sex offender for the rest of their lives. If some idiot decides that you don't have you own right to privacy and lifts your kilt you should be royally angry and not sit back and allow yourself to be a doormat but if that's the way that you run your life that's your decision. I wonder if you step back when some lout lifts your wife's skirt since it isn't such a big deal to you?

I think that is an excellent idea (unless of course the kilt-lifter is your type in which case handing them a slip of paper with your phone number might be more appropriate! ) Just kidding, a do like the idea of giving the lifter a major shock and a lesson about what is correct and incorrect public behavior.

Well.....that sounds like an interesting hobby.

I am more than a little surprised that women would comply

Whilst I haven't had this happen to me (yet!), my second thought (we won't discuss my first thought, although it involved some bad language) was to take the lady by the arm, whilst dialling the police on my cellphone with the other hand... and have her charged with sexual assault - as previously suggested earlier in this thread...while waiting for the police (*if* they deigned to show), I think I'd remind her that if the charges are successful in court, she'll be labelled a sex offender - and then maybe consider dropping the charges later before the court case came up.

Maybe this is a little fanciful... or impractical... but it's better than breaking my cardinal rule of not striking women .

    Just my $0.05 worth

    cheers
