Whats your budget? What Price Glory and E-Bay are two sources for the heavy (and warm) militery kilts. And then theres always the Great Kilt. I have several of the militery kilts and Stillwaters heavyweights. Any of them are good choices, though the militery kilts ARE a lot warmer than the Stillwaters.

As for the "upgrades" I suggest in the above review, I believe O'Neille maybe able to take care of them. I'm sending both of my Ebay tanks to him for the upgrades. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

before I respond, I'll let it be known that the two ebay tanks I own have taken up position as my default kilts. I've gone and done just about anything that can be done in a kilt in these. There is a strong possiblity that I will try to contact the seller and get a batch made in MacTavish(Thompson Red). If Anyone else would want a MacTavish (Thompson Red) ebay tank, let me know!

As I indicated in the reviews, the sewing is a bit lacking. I am sending them to O'Neille to be re-stitched. Everything else about it is great. The fabric is almost bulletproof ( definitly english-proof!) and the pleats are still to this day straight and true, and I haven't pressed them in three months. Overall, I am extremely happy with the kilt. Even with the stiching coming out of the fell, once a belt is put on, there is no visible distinction between the sewn pleats and the one or two that have come undone.

I would definitly suggest that anyone looking for a great knock-around kilt, and even one that would be acceptable ( provided it is clean) to be worn with a PC or Argyle Jacket, pick up one of these.
