It's a beauty, Ham. That Stillwater sporran looks good on it as well. I think the white polo and hose are a natural for that kilt. Gives the whole outfit a summer time look. I bet you could also do a navy blue polo and navy hose when the weather cools down. SInce the kilt is a light color, the navy would really make it and the flashes standout.

The Shepherd's check, or the Falkirk tartan, is also known as the Northumberland tartan:

Matt Newsome has a very good article about the tartan on his blog:

That's the Falkirk tartan/Shepherd's plaide? I always thought the setting would be wider on it? That would be the oldest dated tartan, correct? goes back to the early centuries A.D. if I remember the hitory of it. That's cool. It looks fairly sharp as well. So it's probably one of THE most historic tartans one could wear. It looks really sharp, and I could easily seeing that clean up well for formal black tie like affairs.

Once again Hamish, you make everyone else here either jealous, or jones for more kilts!

Very nice, Hamish. I hadn't seen Shepherd's tartan on a kilt before but it works well on you.
