The amalgamation is a sad thing. Long standing traditions tossed out like trash and I doubt this is the last of it. I expect in the near future the Scottish and Welsh identities will be dispensed with completely.

The trend has been going on for some time, amalgamate, centralise, downsize.
Have super hospitals miles from where people live.
Amalgamate police forces and remove all local connection and control.
Modernise and consign proud local histories to a museum.
It's tragic and also short-sighted.

I'm certainly glad that my son and I were able to see the Band of the BW this past Spring in their last tour.
BTW...the UK army dress link is great, but I've never seen a sporran slung quite so low!
