Neo, I figured after a good handful of positive remarks that scottishkilts.net wasn't the "problem child", but thanks for the input... I know another place to avoid.

I know some people have had problems with scottishkilts.net, but I'm not one of them. I've ordered a few things from them (including my wedding outfit!) and I've been happy with the service. They are a bit slow on the uptake sometimes via email, though.

I'm about to order the three button tweed jacket with waistcoat once our security deposit refund check clears the bank. I'm seriously considering adding the 5yd Irish-American kilt to it.

I bought a 5 yard Blackwatch (16 oz lacarron) scottish kilts .net when they were having their sale last spring. After waiting nearly four months for it to arrive I tried calling several times with no answer on the phone or any responce to E-mails. When I finally got someone on the phone, I was informed that they had made a mistake and made my kilt in the wrong tartan but that would have it done and shipped in a week.

    It arrived three weeks later.

The tag looked like it was an in-stock item made in the stardard 24 inch,I was a dissapointed as I had ordered it to be no more than 22.5 inches.lenght.

It was marked as a Gents eight yard with my waist and seat.it is also without any label.

The kilt is well made and it does fit well even if it rides a a little higher then I like in order to get it to hang at the top of the knee.

    Neo:
No worries about hijacking, I post threads for information...
even though this guy isn't 100% related to my questions in general, sharing experiences and what not, good, bad, indifferent all help make a person a more informed buyer, no?
I am sure I am not the only one reading this thread, there could be other new guys reading it, which means that they might not be doomed to make a similar mistake, or suffer through similar circumstances.

I wonder how long their end of season sale runs?
here is the link to some photos of the Scots American in action. I recieved my kilt from SK.net and it took a while but it is excellent in quality and price. It is truly a TANK if you get the premium 16oz 8 yd kilt.
