Like it or not the wearing of a kilt will attract its fair share of comments both positive and negative.
We don't need approval (or indeed disapproval) but whereas the latter is a pain the former is usually a nice way of striking up a conversation and passing the time of day.
It would be discourteous to appear as if you found a friendly approach tiresome, remember that the person making the pleasant comments may not have encountered someone in a kilt for some time if ever.
If you don't want to be noticed and blend in with the crowd wear jeans or trousers
