    Dixon, California, Games & Gathering

Dixon is in the flat, fertile delta farmlands halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento. With a town population of only about 18,000 the turnout was tremendous. Temperatures were in the high 80 degrees Farenheit, but the cool breeze and ample shade trees made it pleasant.

Charlie and me. The new X-Marks shirt looks good.

Ray and me in Black Watch.

    Plenty of Clans.

    Plenty of food vendors.

Why do we go to Dixon? It's home of the Scottish Meat Pie Co., Northern California's maker of fine Haggis.

Lanky Freddie was a favorite. Believe he cleared 16 feet.

This huge fellow had a perfect toss.

    Lots of non-traditional kilts, too.

    What a day!

A humorous side note: On the drive home my cell phone received a text message from work indicating that there was a problem with one of the computers. Wondered what looks I might receive in downtown San Francisco. Had forgotten that it was the day of the "Love Parade" (Google it yourself) just a block from the office and there was a huge party in the Civic Center beginning to congregate. When I returned to the car, my wife noted: "You weren't even a blip on the radar!"
