right! I've even thinking of a mini to replace my laptop. I don't travel with a laptop any more, too much hassle with airline security, I just take a handheld now.

As one who has assembled my own computers for the last 7 or 8 years, I have a bit of a problem with proprietary pre-built systems. I like having the control of what goes in the box. I played with a Mac briefly while back and found it an adequate machine. People must be happy with them... they have a dedicated following.

I have found a certain comfort level with home-built computers. I find proprietary stuff restrictive.

For me that MACs are proprietary is the biggest plus. Apple controls what goes in and so what comes out is the best. The only problem I see with a MAC is it just keeps running, so I don't have a good reason to buy a new one. By the way, I'm a Microsofpt certified professional and have taught computer architecture for years. Nothing is better built than a MAC.
