I was going to suggest hanging sprigs of mistletoe from your sporran then I thought better of it!

You might consider the McGregor or Ulster Red tartans.

The modern Grant tartan also has a Christmassy colour scheme. You can see it in this thread.

I have a Robertson Red, and I have to tell you that it is the ultimate Christmas tartan. Red background with green and blue stripes.
You just have to see it during the holidays to appreciate how true this is, but as for the vote - Robertson Red.
Not the best pics of it, but I can't figure out how to post a pic directly.

"Christmas" tartan...
The Cumming Red tartan:

which is very, very similar to the Red MacAulay tartan:

The MacGregor would work as well, INMHO.

I'm in Edinburgh next month and my clan is Robertson and I am def going to have a Robertson tartan kilt made so will be examining the swatches of the various possibilities before deciding and hopefully will get it in time for Christmas!
There's stuff in the FAQ section of this site which tells you how to do it re the pics - I found it yesterday and it works!

Well....er...cough cough....
My own clan tartan...hands down!!
Royal Stewart that is plastered all over everything Christmas these days. WAY too bright for me and I'm sure that's the reason Her Majesty doesn't make too much fuss about it.
Royal Stewart is the quintessential Christmas tartan. I even have a Santa in the tartan playing the pipes.
