James, welcome from another James in North Georgia. I wish you a speedy recovery from your spinal fusion. My wife had a spinal fusion last year, I know the recovery period can be rough.

Welcome from the highlands of Colorado. One of my co-workers just went thru his 3rd fusion sugery last week. All done on his neck and due to accidents. He's out till the Christmas time frame. Take it easy and do what the docs recommend during recovery.

Here is a pattern from one our own here. It is a contemporary kilt, box pleated, but easy to modify to your needs.

Welcome aboard from Georgia. Look for a book called The art of Kiltmaking. You can find it at the Scotish Tartan Museum online.

Money is tight I have not been working due to my back problems so just comming up with the extra to get material is hard. I have black nylon heavy denier for sewing caving gear to sew it with I would like to see the stitching in it anyway black thread on grey material looks good l plan on trimming it with black anyway with big brass buttons. Later I would like to get maybe the First National or maybe the true blue and white St Andrews in the middle up at the top embroidered.
