New book: MacFeegles are back
Just a note that the new Terry Pratchett book, "Wintersmith", is scheduled to be released on Oct. 1. The Nac MacFeegle return with a vengence and a craving for kebobs. I just ordered from Amazon...they're doing their typical serious discount on a new release thing.
If you have a soft spot in your heart for wee little blue men in kilts - and who doesn't? - check it out.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm a huge Terry Pratchett fan. I hadn't heard he was doing a new book with the Nac Mac Feegles. If any of you haven't seen them, just do a google image search.

Actually, Turpin, these are set in Discworld as well. The Nac Mac Feegles made their first appearance in "Carpe Jugulum", one of the Discworld books. They caught on and Pratchett wanted to expand them a bit. So, "The Wee Free Men" was all about them. This book was a "youth" book, set in Discworld, so a lot of adult readers sort of missed it. The next in that "youth" series were "Hat Full of Sky", and now this new one. Pratchett, from what I understand, wanted to create a race of fairies that were so cantankerous, head-strong, hard-drinking, and hard-fighting that they got kicked out of fairyland. For some reason, he decided to base these folks on the Scots

Well, I missed those books. I'll need to talk to the library about that. Their collection is incomplete.

I love the Pictsies! I still haven't found 'Hatful of Sky', though. I'll have to look at Amazon once I get some (ha!) money.
