    It's over with my "friend"

    Hi all,

I decided to end the social relation I had with my female "friend" and kilt wearing is the reason.

It began at that movie conference I went kilted. I had included a picture in a recent post showing how I was dressed.

She told me that people laughted looking at me and told me that a kilt is a folkoric costume used in pubs, highlands games, celtic nights or Halloween parties, no more, no less.

Tonight I was supposed to go to a theater play with her and some of hers friends. I decided to go there kilted with a white shirt and a tie. She was very angry and told me that I will shame her if I do that and will upset other spectators.

Please note that I would have put some water in my wine if I would have a more personal relationship with her.

No, not sorry to hear this!

The first time with the Jacobie shirt yeah not your standard outfit. She wigs out. Okay she might have a minor point but she is being petty at best. I mean if the roles were reversed, example: was she wearing slacks? If so would she enjoy being insulted because on them? I think not.

This time you are perfectly dressed to a tee. She wigs out again. this time she is being the type of woman that rymes with whitch.

Blow her off, get a new girlfriend, one who likes real men.

Look the fight was NOT about the kilt, it was about her inability to control you.

It's extremely likely that Sir Robert is at least very close to the mark, if not spot-on. Theyr'e CLOTHES.... not a genetic remake of your DNA. For her to pitch a fit over you wearing a kilt, and not focusing on the guy she has...all his good points and the strength of character it takes to wear akilt,it shortsightedat best.

Cry in your beer tonight....maybe eventhroughthe weekend. Then, move on.

I second (or third) that remark.

Sorry to hear that Parpin. I wore a kilt to the theater last week. When my companions first saw me and said "are you wearing a kilt?" I just laughed and replied "You mean we're not attending the performance of Sing-it-yourself Brigadoon?" and that was the end of it.

Its better to be yourself than to be who your "friend" wants you to be.

    Best regards,

    Jake

    Thumbs up

Having been married for 36 years (to the same woman) I can tell you that you made the right choice. Sir Robert, is most likely correct in his assessment. Believe me a good woman is a partner not a commander. She can't change you to meet her needs and you can't change her to meet your needs social or otherwise.

Better that than carrying on with your tail between your legs.

... I decided to go there kilted with a white shirt and a tie. She was very angry and told me that I will shame her if I do that and will upset other spectators...
So this is really all about her...

... Please note that I would have put some water in my wine if I would have a more personal relationship with her.
I don't know.... I think that attitude of hers may portend trouble down the road. Is she worth the investment?
