Twenty? This doesn't sound like a particularly Celtic or Scottish event, so I guess the idea of the kilt as a choice for menswear is taking hold in Denver!

    Regards,
    Rex.

    Lamont tartan and beer

I am a Lamont and I do have an ancient and weathered kilts.
I have worn a kilt to the Portland beer fest a few times but don't rember seeing another kilt, also I never recived a larger taste because of the kilt.

I went to last July's Portland Beer Fest (on the Friday) and apparently there was one other kiltie in the crowd (but I didn't see him). As for pouring samples, I imagine the Portland Beer Festival is pretty strick on everyone getting exactly the same measure. You guys take your beer seriously in Oregon!

    SB996,

Sounds like a lot of fun. So what were the best beers you sampled?

    Cheers

It was great to see at least 20 other men properly kilted, tartan and casual.
That must be one big festival. I was at the 14th Great Canadian Beer Festival here in Victoria in September in my Freedom Kilt, and I saw maybe three guys in Utilikilts, one other FK and one tartan. Most of the guys in UK's were with the Washington State breweries that attend. There were lots of people in interesting outfits and hats, including a couple of young ladies in duct tape minidresses.
Our festival gives 4 oz. tastings and they have to be really strict about it. I stuck mostly to IPA's this year. I'm lucky in that my personal kilt inspector doubles as my designated driver for this event. One day I'd like to make it to the GABF.
