So sorry to hear that Ron, my mother is 86, still going strong, amazing since she smoked until she was 70, then gave it up. Still, 85 is a good run, you must miss her.

I am sorry for your loss. I lost my father 10 years ago just a few days past his 90th. My mother passed on 4 years ago, also a few days past her 90th. Being with her in those last few days was something I am grateful to been able to do. With my father I was not with him for all of his last days due to distance and financial constraints. While they are gone in the physical sense, as long as we remember them they will be with us. Living well is the best legacy we can give them.

My condolences, Ron. My 85-year-old great aunt, really more like a grandmother to me, died last month as well.
The ladies of that generation are remarkable. Shaped by childhood during the Great Depression and lives as young women during WWII. There has not been a generation before or since that had such a unique foundation.
I hope the good memories of your mom quickly push aside the sadness.
