The F-H.C.A.G. has promised to make me an X Kilt before she sets to work on Sinbad's X-Marks tartan Kilt.

Sadly, Prudence says you shouldn't pressure redheads though

    Cheers

    By the way....

If anyone gets offers to build X-Kilts or variations on X-Kilts commercially, then you have my permission to use this design. I did not trademark it, and I give it to the general kilt-wearing (and stitching) community as my contribution to kilted freedom. Develop it, modify it, stitch 'em up how you want and enjoy. If you can turn over a few bucks by making your own version of the X-Kilt, then good on ya.

Tell you what.... if You actually start a business making X-Kilts, then make me one, and we're square!

    butt 48, waist 41, length 24-25

Hi Alan, just wanted to say how much I appreciate your posting the X-Kilt instructions. I've never sat at a sewing machine in my life, but I found myself there last night sewing a 12 foot hem! Your directions are very clear (and entertaining), and I hope to have my first kilt made by next week. I'll post a picture when it's done. Thanks again!

Dagnabit: Great Stuff! I'm glad to hear it, and will be looking forward to those pictures!

Keepoffgrass: I've bought fabric from some of the sellers on ebay and never gotten burned. Most of them are pretty straight-ahead vendors. Look for ones with at least a few hundred sales under their belt and order.

Hey Alan, here are a couple of pictures. You were right on the money with your directions and timeframe. Took me about 10 hours and $38, and that's having never operated a sewing machine before. It's heavy weight cotton twill. Only design change I made was snap enclosures instead of velcro. Teriffic job, you should feel like a proud Papa! Thanks again.
