By the way....
If anyone gets offers to build X-Kilts or variations on X-Kilts commercially, then you have my permission to use this design. I did not trademark it, and I give it to the general kilt-wearing (and stitching) community as my contribution to kilted freedom. Develop it, modify it, stitch 'em up how you want and enjoy. If you can turn over a few bucks by making your own version of the X-Kilt, then good on ya.
Tell you what.... if You actually start a business making X-Kilts, then make me one, and we're square!

Hi Alan, just wanted to say how much I appreciate your posting the X-Kilt instructions. I've never sat at a sewing machine in my life, but I found myself there last night sewing a 12 foot hem! Your directions are very clear (and entertaining), and I hope to have my first kilt made by next week. I'll post a picture when it's done. Thanks again!
