Sporran leather
Hi All,
Does anyone know what the name of the hard, shiny leather is that is used to make the rigid backs of dress sporrans? I think it is also found on most common black daywear sporrans...
I have some cheap sporrans on the way and wanted to do some fiddling and learn how to make a pouched dress sporran.

My two are both different. One has two pieces of leather sewn together with a stiffener in between them. They are sewn with finished side out. The other better one has a piece of top grain sewn to a piece of suede on the inside and there appears to be a stiffener in there also. I've seen but never purchased some that appear to be a thin piece of leather bonded to a stiffener with some lining material over that. O'Neille
