    do these "match"?

i recently cam across a grey kilt jacket at a local thrift store that fits me so of course i bought it. i think it looks fine with my kilt, but i thought i'd solicit some opinions before i wear it to a wedding (not involved, just a guest). my kilt is a hunting macleod (see avatar) and the jacket is similar in color to this one:

(see bottom of page). the jacket i have is not the same style. mine doesn't have gauntlet cuffs. they are straight. do they go together well enough? thanks.

It sounds like you might be describing a Bramer Jacket. I think they would look good together. I think you would want to wear Black leathers with it to compliment the grey in the jacket.

I think Cavscout means your kilt belt, sporran & shoes should all be black leather.

Grey is a neutral color; goes with any color. It'll go particularly well with the blue in your kilt's tartan.

    Great looking jacket!

I have to agree... that's a nice neutral grey grey with a bit of "warmth" to the color. I'd wear that combination in a heartbeat!

I think I'd be incline to find kilt socks the same color as the jacket. Freedom kilts sells some that would probably work.

yeah, i was amazed myself. i have no idea where it could have come from, but i'm glad it was there. and priced to move at only $20. it's seen some wear, a few small moth holes (the largest the width of a pencil), but it should be easily repaired. i looked up Bramer jacket and that's not quite it either. it looks to be a crail jacket.
