Is it even possible to watch too much Farscape? I don't think so.
Ryjel would prefer to be known as Crichton, but alas, he's destined to be disappointed.

I understand completely that your emotion is directed at the VP and not at my family. I will be calling the VP tomorrow morning, and if he doesn't have any better reason to prohibit the wearing of kilts, then I'll release a name and address for appropriate response. But I'd rather not have him walk into work in the morning to a bursting mailbox, when the usual channels have been ignored. I think the VP had better be prepared for both these young gentlemen planning on wearing kilts to dances.

A good thing to remember...
School administrators really don't like dealing with incensed parents.
Or the media.

Good on ya, Kizmet! We can keep up the kilting emails until we hear from you that he's relented.

I think that VP needs to see the clipping I have (if I can find it) of the school that almost faced a lawsuit due to them not allowing a boy to wear a kilt to his prom.
Please post the name and email addy of him but I say it would be a better bet to have us and our friends to sign a e-petion and send him with a few hundred names.

If he thinks kilts, as historic dress, are not something a man should wear, maybe your son can go to school in one of these other historic men's garments...
The Greek Fustanella:
The Roman Toga:
The Irish Leine:
The Egyptian "kilt":
Or they could just dress as a Sumo!
Plenty of non-kilt options.... :-)

Actually, I'd be interested in seeing his response to a woman wearing a kilt. If he insists 'skirts' are women's clothes, then ask if the girls at that school are allowed to wear pants.
After all, if boys can't wear kilts because they're 'girl's clothes', then girls should not be allowed to wear 'boy's clothes', right?
(Aside to the VP: caving in now will save you a lot of grief.)

Send him a note and dress your son as a "Shirt Tails Boy"
See the following:
