I do not own any leather kilts, but I have seen / inspected 3 brands... Utilikilt, TFCK, and Rkilts.
All 3 have fantastic attributes and each one is a "different animal". All 3 have top notch sewing and costruction.
If you're looking for a STRAIGHT TRADITIONAL leather kilt and have $$$, check out TFCK.
If you like the look of the corset lacing and the narrow apron, check out UK.
If you want a custom leather kilt (custom meaning not ONLY made to fit you, but also with or without pockets or other neat gadgets) check out R Kilts. Robert is a GREAT guy and a member / advertiser on this forum.

Holy Cow
Union Kilts has a special on right now. Their heavy leather kilt is going for 200 pounds! That's a saving of 75 pounds from their regular price. (I think I can hear the start of a stampede.)
I've kilt for less.

Thanks for all the wonderfull responses. I know I will only be able to afford 1 leather and I will have to save for that. I wish there was a place where we could see and feel the differences before we buy.

Hi Mark,
The best I can do is send you swatches. My kilts are custom order. This gets you a kilt fitted to you much like a traditional hand sewn kilt.
Keep doing the research. Not all leather kilts are the same. Find out the weight of the leather used, the type. Where is it made? Does the leather stretch? What about the tanning of the leather? How will it stand up to stains and abuse? Does it have a full under apron and over apron? It is it adjustable? How does it fasten velcro or leather straps. What is the quality of those straps? What kind of hardware is used. How much leather is actually used to make up that kilt.
It won't take you long to find that information. Once you are satisfied with the answers you will be happy and can proceed to get a quality leather kilt that will look great for a long time.
Cheers
