    Not exactly tartan ...

    ... but if you are considering making your own kilt, there's this auction on eBay. The color is indigo in bright, natural light; but under other common lighting conditions it's purple.
    It's not my auction, but I did buy some for kiltmaking.

    Just to note:

    Many of the Wilson and Sons tartans sold in 1819 had purple in them, many of which are presently "unclaimed."

    If interested in one of them, call Matt at the Tartan Meseum (X Marks sponsor) to see about a custom weave.
